Thompson, William H.G. - 1898 - Mined during the 1890's. Dug tunnel into hill off of Horsefly Bay Road, west of Hobson's. Came from Canboro, ONT. Worked on small claim past Hobson's. with Dan McCallum - discovery. Buried in Harper's Lease Cemetery.

Taese, Fred - Trapper in Likely, Quesnel Lake area 1906-1928 - Used a "dug-out canoe". Headquarters on Rapid River (Taese Creek). Also prospected for fine gold there. Powerful man. Found dead near his mine. Made charcoal for mines.

Hardie in Clinton and Bennie McNeil at Canim Lake store as book-keeper. Ditch-walker for Hobson mine when he first came to Horsefly, mail route over 108 Mile and sometimes gold. Lived with brothers Tom and Ernest at China Cabin where they cultivated hay for Hobson Mine and kept mine horses. Harry Married Alva in September 1895 in Clinton. Had their first child Hazel in 1896. pre-empt. lot 168 in 1891, 341 in 1890, lots 2561 & 2562 in 1910. horsefly Hotel 1898-19??. First Post Office in 1897. Saloon. Mail Run. Survey for Grand Truck R. First Forest Ranger. First School Board. Justice of the Peace. Harry died March 1918. - Hazel - Born 1896 in China Cabin. pre-empt. 8335 in 1929. Married Bill Loveridge in 1916. Four children (1 died) remarried to Jack Carson. remarried to Bud Gibbons. School Trustee. - Ivan - Born 1898 at Walters' Hotel. Married Marie Pebernat. - Lloyd (See 16-3) - Born 1899 at Walters' Hotel. Married Francis Dogherty. He died circa 1937 from Tularemia from skinning coyote. - Glen - Born 1902 in Washington. Began ranching in 19??. Married Lily Widdowson. Trapped and Hunted up Quesnel Lake. - Blanche - Born 1904 at Walters' Hotel. Married Ray Chambers. remarried Cliff Jones. - Valentine - Born 1907 at 150 Mile. Married Mike Grogan. - Gerald - Born 1909 in Quesnel. Married Ernestina Wilson. - Marvin - Born 1914 in Kamloops. Married June Roberts.

Westicombe(?) Westicoffe, Robert - Book-keeper at store before Jim Sutherland. Also did books for mines.
Ward, R.T. Store-keeper at 150 Mile House. Bought Harper's Lease. Later bought Bullion property from Guggenheim's 1912-1918.
Webster, Alister & Elizabeth (?), children; Murray, John, Alfred, Gordon. Lived up 108 Mile. Alister ran Community Hall as Pool Hall first.

Winqvist, Hjalmar Wilhelm; born 14.06.1878 in Pargas in Finland and that he established his Log Cabin Camp in Horsefly. He died accidentally by a shot from a pistol on his farewell party that was arranged in a lodge in Horsefly the 25:th of May 1946. *Formerly listed as Windquist (Lindquist), William - Horsefly Cemetery. Wawn, John • arrived in 1904 from Lillooet • stayed till 1945 • told sailor stories and sea chantries • on first school board in 1910 • school trustee for 25 years • Justice of the Peace • sorrel mare called "Nanny Lee" and two-wheel cart • homesteaded at 4 mile near Abott Lake (Fish Lake) lot 2586 (1907), near Lemon Lake on old Peter Ross site, moved near Niquidet's Garage (?), back to Abbot Lake. Always dismantled home and moved it. Made a living by putting up hay, working as a cobbler.
Webbers, Tom, Kate, Will and Bob • from England • only daughter died in 1919 she is buried in Mountainview Cemetery.
Wee, Ah • Chinese domestic • worked for Walters, Patenaude and Gardner.
Williams, John • Joe's father • miner • worked for Ed West • pre-empted Dogherty field lot 504 in 1899.
Williams, Joe & Agnes (nee Gruhs) • Joe arrived in Horsefly in 1910 and married Agnes in 1914. • children Dick, Joe and Margaret • lot 1923 in 1924 (Moffat Creek) and lot 8344 in 1914.
Williams, Ernest & Verna • came in 1919 • children Hubert, Raymond, Aubrey, and Vinnie.
Walters, Tom & Edith • Tom was Harry's brother • children Ethel and Ernest.
West, Ed & Dottie, son LeRoy • in 1909 investigated Hobson Mine • operated mine 1910-1916 • Dottie went with her husband to mines • some mining at forks of Horsefly • involved in Jawbone Mine - West, Camp & Co.

Youngker, Alva Vrala • born in 1870 in Nebraska • came to Horsefly in 1894 with mother & step-father and Rebecca & W?. Hall • lived at Harper's Lease in a cabin • then moved to Dam over at Moffat Creek • married Harry Walters in 1895.
